Primate of All England

The Archbishop of Canterbury has shaped the worldwide Anglican Communion for centuries. With the installation of the 106th Archbishop marking a moment of change for the Church of England, this exhibition explores the Archbishop of Canterbury’s historic role and responsibilities.

Through rarely-seen artefacts from the home of the Archbishops, Lambeth Palace, and archival material from the Library’s collections, discover how Archbishops of Canterbury were elected and learn about the importance of the role today.
