DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Professor Anthony Milton \n\n\n\nThis roundtable with Anthony Milton (University of Sheffield) will discuss his new book\, England’s Second Reformation: The Battle for the Church of England 1625-1662 (2021)\, which argues that the 1640s\, 1650s and early 1660s constituted a ‘second reformation’\, when the identity of the Church of England was fundamentally reshaped in the crucible of civil war\, interregnum and the restoration of the monarchy. Discussion to be led by Ken Fincham and Stephen Taylor. \n\n\n\nIn association with the University of London research seminar on the Religious History of Britain\, 1500-1800.  All are welcome\, but those wishing to attend should book a free ticket at Eventbrite\, or email archives@churchofengland.org not later than Thursday 9 June. \n\n\n\nThis event takes place in the Bancroft Room\, Lambeth Palace Library (new building\, entrance on Lambeth Palace Road). Please arrive 10 minutes before the advertised start time to allow time to take the lift to the top.
